Man set trap and then shot and killed firefighters responding to Webster, N.Y. fire

 

When firefighters arrived, Spengler unleashed a torrent of bullets, shattering the windshield of the fire truck that volunteer firefighter and police Lt. Michael Chiapperini, 43, was driving. Fellow firefighter Tomasz Kaczowka, 19, was killed as well.
Two other firefighters were struck by bullets. They remained hospitalized in stable condition and were expected to survive.

2 Firefighters Killed, 2 Injured After Gunman Shoots First Responders at Scene of Fire in Webster, NY

 

Four volunteer firefighters were shot after responding to a house fire in Webster, New York – a suburb near Rochester. Two have been confirmed dead, two injured and a police officer is being treated for shrapnel wounds. The gunman is also reported dead. 33 residents have now been evacuated as four homes were fully engulfed in flames. Firefighters couldn’t take out the massive blaze because of the shooting.
